Graduating in 1990 from Fairfield University with a BA in Economics, Melissa began her career substituting in classrooms with some of the neediest students in her hometown. While teaching part time, Mrs. Corey worked toward her Masters in Education at the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford, CT.

In 1993, Melissa earned her Masters Degree in Education and moved to Philadelphia. There, she served students in Norristown, PA. These students had multiple learning and behavioral challenges.
In 1996, Mrs. Corey moved across the river to New Jersey, where she worked at Centennial High School in Westfield with students of similar need.  When her two daughters reached school age, Melissa became involved with The Darcy School, now Chatham Day School, in Madison as a technology instructor, a 3rd and 4th grade teacher, and the interim head of school.

Encouraged by dozens of requests from parents, Melissa opened her own academic coaching service in 2002 to fill the need for test preparation services for students desiring to attend local independent schools.
Today, Mrs. Corey helps a full complement of students fulfill their educational goals. Her students have gone on to attend many fine independent schools, colleges, universities, and graduate schools. It is her wish to continue providing that personal touch that enhances each student’s educational experience.
